Feeling festive? At this time of year, there’s almost nothing that rivals visiting a Christmas market to get you in the mood… besides maybe seeing the Coca Cola ad for the first time! And if you’re looking for Christmas markets near Streatham, you’ve come to the right place. All the markets listed in this blog post are within 30 minutes of Streatham by bus, train or car.
Winterville, Clapham Common
2-3 miles, approx. 15 mins on bus 417
This mini winter wonderland used to be housed in Victoria Park, but two years ago it moved down south to its new home on Clapham Common.
What to expect: food, drink and an open-air ice rink! It makes the perfect venue for a festive meet-up with friends and you can buy tickets for Plonk Golf, Backyard Cinema, roller disco and special events. Or just walk around with a mulled wine and a bratwurst and soak in the festive atmosphere.
Entry: Tuesdays: free. Wednesdays, Thursdays and Sundays: £2. Fridays and Saturdays: up to £5 depending on time of entry.

Christmas By The River, London Bridge
5 miles, 25 mins by tube from Balham, 28 mins by car or 35 mins by Overground from Streatham Hill station.
A Christmas market with a view! Explore the row of traditional wooden cabins running parallel to the River Thames overlooking famous London landmarks including Tower Bridge and the Tower of London.
What to expect: food and drink tastings, free craft workshops and unique stocking fillers, paired with as much seasonal street food and as many warm drinks as anyone could wish for.

Christmas Market On The Piazza, Wimbledon
4 miles, 11 mins by Thameslink from Streatham station.
Christmas Market On The Piazza is a charming little local market in the heart of Wimbledon. It may not be as robust or well-funded as some of the other options in this list but what it lacks in stature, it makes up for in spirit. Running every weekend in December before Christmas.
What to expect: all sorts of trinkets and glutinous foods, plus fundraising stalls for various local charities.

Streatham Rookery Christmas Fair & Market, Streatham Common

We saved the best one until last – there’s a Christmas market coming right to our doorstep! The Rookery is a favourite spot for many who live in the area, known for its picturesque surroundings and friendly cafe. The Christmas fair is for one day only, on Sunday the 9th of December – don’t miss it!
What to expect: over 40 craft and gift stalls, farmers’ market and Santa’s grotto. Fun for all the family.
Entry: £2 donation for adults, kids go free.
