Hood is owned and run by brother and sister team and a vibrant restaurant and bar, based in a restored Edwardian property. They provide delicious lunch and dinner menus which a small but succinct number of options and also cater for gluten-free, dairy-free or other diets as well as smaller meals for children. Hood also serves tea, coffee and cakes for those who are popping in for a quick visit.
The food is Modern British, meaning locally sourced and seasonal British ingredients are used as well as influences from the continent. Trace-ability of the produce is important to Hood and have a provenance map on their restaurant wall, showing where the key ingredients and drinks have come from.
There is a great wine list which was created with help from several excellent local wine agents and they offer a selection of sparkling, reds, whites and roses from England and continental Europe. For those beer lovers out there, they have also picked a diverse selection of refreshing and interesting beers brewed in South London and Sussex, as well as spirits and soft drinks.
