Streatham London Ice Skating Champions

Dancing on Streatham ice

Born and raised in South London and currently living in Streatham, Rebecca Clarke aged 17 and Theodore Alexander aged 14, are reigning Advanced Novice ice skating Champions. They won their category at the British Ice Dance Championships 2017 in early December last year after just a few months skating together.

Against all the odds at the recent Mary Parry competition held in Streatham, they came 1st in Free Dance with a clear win of 64.80 points and 2nd in Rhythm dance, nearly missing 1st by only 0.26 off the winners mark. They were competing in the Juniors, which is a higher level than Advance Novice and Theo was the youngest male competing in this category.

These results mean they have qualified for this year’s Championships in December, with the added bonus that Theo collected his final Level 10 certificate in Ice Dance. These certificates mean that they have the entry for Seniors whenever they wish to move up. They will, however, continue to compete in Juniors this season, hopefully with more international invitations next year.

On the strength of this result they have been invited to compete for GBR in Budapest later this month and hope to fit in another international competition before the end of the year. They are both GLL sponsored athletes but are looking for additional support from potential sponsors to help them continue their quest to represent GBR on the international stage.

If there are any local businesses who would like to sponsor rising local talent, please get in touch and we’ll put you in contact with the duo.
